Letter to Reading Eagle

To the Editor:

We appreciate the mention of the World Skating Federation in Kathleen Bangs' article "Will new scoring system hit the mark?" (Reading Eagle, 10/22/03). Thank you for your fair, even-minded coverage of the new scoring system.

While it is true that great champions such as Scott Hamilton, Brian Boitano, Kurt Browning, and Dick Button have spoken in support of the WSF, at present the WSF has no members, and those athletes were speaking on behalf of themselves alone. In addition, the fan reform group SkateFAIR is not connected to the WSF and its protest activities are independent.

We look forward to continuing coverage of Skate America from you.
